Christian music artists names

The nominees for the 58th annual Grammy Awards were unveiled on Monday, with five categories rounding out the “Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music” genre — categories that are many times glossed over during the main show.

After all, the Grammys aren’t known for being even remotely faith-based in nature, but Bible-believing artists — like their secular counterparts — are still awarded for their talents — and this year will be no different, with some biggest names in Christian music receiving nominations.

In the “Best Gospel Album” category, the nominees are: Karen Clark Sheard for her album “Destined to Win [LIVE], ” Dorinda Clark-Cole with “Living It, ” Tasha Cobbs with “One Place Live, ” Israel & Newbreed with “Covered: Alive In Asia [Live]” and Jonathan McReynolds with “Life Music: Stage Two.”

And the “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” nominees are: Jason Crabb with “Whatever the Road, ” Lauren Daigle with “How Can It Be, ” Matt Maher with “Saints and Sinners, ” Tobymac with “This is Not a Test” and Chris Tomlin with “Love Ran Red.”

Listen to Crabb discuss his new album on The Church Boys podcast at the 56:00 mark below:

These two categories in the gospel and Christian realm are joined by three others: “Best Gospel Performance/Song, ” “Best Contemorary Christian Music Performance/Song, ” and “Best Roots Gospel Album.” Find out more about the nominees in those categories here.
