Male Country music artists
When it comes to chart stats, Jason Aldean has been burnin' it down. This week, the Night Train conductor becomes the top-selling male country artist in the history of the RIAA's Digital Gold and Platinum Awards. Appropriately, the news arrives several day after "Burnin' It Down" climbed to the top of Billboard's genre-spanning Digital Songs chart, giving Aldean his first Number One on that chart.

"I love country music, and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else, " Aldean said in a statement. "There was never a Plan B."
With Aldean racking up more than 21.5 million digital track sales and on-demand since 2005, it looks like Plan A is working out just fine. He'll be on the road for the rest of the summer, completing a stadium tour that runs until late October.
The Georgia native is also readying his sixth studio album, with "Burnin' It Down" as its first taste. The mid-tempo rocker was co-written by Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins and the guys of Florida Georgia Line. Aldean admits the tune has a different sonic feel from anything he's recorded. "I've pretty much always gone with a really guitar-driven song that's pretty in your face, " he says, "and this is more of a laid-back thing with a really cool groove."
